I was 5 when I first was diagnosed with NF1. I am now 17 (almost 18!) and I love school even though I struggle sometimes. I am a senior in high school and I like writing short stories and also being a light in my school. What makes me happy are my friends and my favorite band (For King and Country). I also like singing, even though I’m not good at it.
NF has impacted me because I have challenges. I can’t play sports because of a tumor and bone deformity on my ankle and also I have learning challenges, so I have troubles with school. But I don’t let that get in my way!
I stay motivated by knowing I’m not alone and being different is okay! I encourage others by telling them everyone has their battles and you’re not alone. NF has made me stronger because I live day by day and I try not to worry about yesterday and tomorrow. I also know what battles I could face and I’m prepared for more battles to come my way.
