Stories of NF: Patrick T.

I was diagnosed with NF1 when I was two years old. I have had spinal fusion surgery and suffer back pain due to a fibroma in my back. It makes it hard to work sometimes.

I had surgery in 2000 and have come out of it a fighter. I went on to graduate high school, college, and earn a Master’s degree. I’m proud to say that I graduated cum laude from undergrad and graduate school.
After spending eight years as a school librarian, I have made a change and become a successful public librarian. I’m now a Youth Services Librarian. I love to read and share my love of reading with kids and teens. In my Pre-K programs, I use puppets in my story times and I developed a gaming program to bring more kids into the library.
