Stories of NF: Brayden M.

By November 5, 2018February 5th, 2024Awareness, NF1, Story of NF

Brayden was diagnosed with NF1 at 9 months. He was non-verbal until 2017.

Brayden is also fighting MDS, a blood-borne cancer, since 2015. After going into remission in January 2017 he has progressed tremendously, surpassing all limitations indicated by medical professionals, the most noticeable of these being the improvement of his speech. That being said, Brayden does have developmental delay, so for all of his 6 years of age, developmentally it is like he is 2-3 years old.

Brayden loves YouTube and being outside on the trampoline. A true “water baby” there’s never a water feature, pool, pond or stream he doesn’t want to climb into. He is forever singing and smiling and every thing brings him joy.

Nothing fazes Brayden. He is a true inspiration to others, accomplishing what so many thought he couldn’t or wouldn’t do. His speech improves daily and his vocabulary is developing at lightning speed. He is a very active little boy, and loves learning new things. He is our light, and while he doesn’t look to us for motivation, Brayden is definitely ours!
