Salvatore La Rosa, Vice President, Research & Development at the Children’s Tumor Foundation, spoke with Chemical & Engineering News about OnPAR, a new initiative co-funded by CTF which seeks to accelerate research proposal funding. High-scoring research proposals left unfunded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) will now have a second chance to idenfity funding sources in the private sector. OnPAR will give foundations access to these peer-reviewed research proposals that directly relate to their funding priorities. The foundations, industries, applicants, and NIH all will benefit from this synergy. La Rosa, speaking to the reporter, on CTF’s involvement, “What we want to find is a high-risk, high-reward type of proposal that fell off the NIH review…If we find a very interesting application, no matter what, we really want to fund it.” Click here to read the full article.
