NF research funding clears final hurdle and is signed into law
H.R. 1158, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020, cleared the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate earlier this week and was signed into law by President Trump today. The package includes $15 million to support Neurofibromatosis (NF) research through the Department of Defense (DOD) Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP). This funding will support innovative research and is imperative to helping the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) reach its goal of ending NF. It will also lead to new groundbreaking discoveries and improved outcomes for NF patients and their families. CTF’s strategic advocacy and outreach by the NF community, patients, and families made this achievement possible. Sustained federal funding allows CTF to build momentum and drive research, expand knowledge, and continue to advance care for the NF community.
