What happens in Vegas SHOULD NOT stay in Vegas when it’s 17 runners raising over $85,000 to aid in the quest to End NF.
Our second annual NF Endurance Alumni Reunion Race took place the weekend of November 11, 2018 at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas marathon. Fundraising efforts were led by the 8-member “run 4 robert” team from Georgia, who raised over $55,000, of which $24,000 was raised by team captain Carolanne Owenby.
Kicking off the weekend, CTF staff hosted a team dinner on Saturday night at the Bellagio to celebrate all the accomplishments of this special group who hailed from coast to coast. In addition to the “run 4 robert” team (Carolanne Owenby, Tara Rogers, Gina Pickeral, Lydia Stevens, Heather Butler, & Cricket Garlich), we were lucky enough to have former board member Lesley Oslica and the rest of “Katie’s Krewe” (Kelley Wilkins, Judy Geautreaux, Jane Little), and Ginger Marshall and Anne Mary Orr of “Miles for Myleigh” all there representing Arkansas, plus Dawn Lowell (California), Diane Owens (Connecticut), and Missy and Michael Rasco (Kentucky) joined in the laughter, story sharing, friendship forging, and t-shirt decorating.

On Sunday at sunset the race began, taking runners up and down the Vegas Strip – at night! The team had 10K and half-marathon runners; everyone finishing with smiles brighter the lights on the Las Vegas Blvd.

Our Alumni Reunion events aim to bring together athletes from all of our NF Endurance races (as well as NFE rookies) for a weekend of celebration, fun, and of course, running. Special fundraising incentives are offered for our racers and opportunities reconnect with old friends, and make new ones, are built into the weekend.
In 2017 our alumni raced together at the New York City Half marathon.
