NF Endurance Bestows Kristina Rath with inaugural Heart of a Champion Award

By January 29, 2016January 17th, 2024NF Endurance

Kristina Rath, longtime NF Endurance participant and CTF advocate, has been awarded the first annual Garrett Baumann Heart of a Champion Award. Each year this award will be given to a person who exhibits similar qualities of Garrett Baumann, a young man with NF2 who is the heart of “Team Garrett.” Recipients must possess a determined spirit; persevere through challenges; meet adversity with an open heart; have a sense of humor; and respect fellow teammates.

Kristina joined NF Endurance about a year after her daughter Jane was diagnosed with NF1 at the age of six months. Since joining the team in 2009, Kristina has run ten half marathons and eight full marathons, including Boston and Hartford, raising more than $110,000 for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. She is a kindhearted fighter and knows how to move forward with a smile.

Follow Kristina’s journey on Marathons for My Daughter, where she blogs about her training and her daughter Jane.
