The NF Research Initiative (NFRI) at Boston Children’s Hospital has two open requests for applications:
· Seeking clinical centers to partner in recruiting participants who are being treated for MPNST. The Genomics of MPNST (GeM) Consortium is an international collaboration to collect 100+ MPNSTs for whole genome sequencing, central pathology review, and clinical data curation in a cloud-based database to accelerate pre-clinical research on MPNST treatment. NFRI will provide financial support for sample collection, sequencing, clinical data curation, and sharing the data through a web-based portal. Application deadline for the GeM Consortium is July 10.
· Seeking RFAs for pre-clinical MPNST research. We will fund projects designed to identify new potential treatments for MPNST. Each award will be up to $100,000/year for a maximum of two years. Desirable projects will be in areas such as therapeutic target identification and screening, role of the tumor microenvironment in tumor progression, and immunotherapeutic approaches to treatment. LOIs for the pre-clinical MPNST grants are due June 26. Click here for the online application.
