Cochlear Implants Become Smaller, Faster and Smarter

Advances in cochlear implant technology being made at Johns Hopkins University are making it easier to implant these devices into young patients including infants and toddlers, and for these devices to function more effectively. Among those who can benefit from cochlear implants are individuals with NF2 who have had vestibular schwannoma tumor removal surgery but still have a functional cochlear nerve remaining.
