Bank of America cancels charity card program

By September 15, 2009December 5th, 2023Awareness

For many years, Bank of America (BA) offered an affinity credit card cobranded with the Children’s Tumor Foundation name and logo.  Each time a consumer used this affinity card for a purchase, balance transfer or a cash advance, the BA donated a percentage of the amount to the Foundation.   These funds totaled around $5,000 per year.

We recently learned that BA is discontinuing this program as of September 30, 2009.  The Foundation will not receive a donation for any purchases made after this date.  However, individual card holders will not be notified about this change by BA until October or November.

Thank you to those who have used these cards.   If you are a Children’s Tumor Foundation affinity cardholder, you may want to contact BA for more details about this change, or investigate other card programs that give you rebates or airmiles in exchange for your business.
