On Friday, May 5, President Donald Trump signed the $1 trillion omnibus spending bill into law. This measure, which passed both chambers of Congress with bipartisan support, funds the government through the end of September. Importantly, it provides $15 million in funding through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program – Neurofibromatosis Research Program (CDMRP-NFRP), which will support Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) work in NF research. The package also provides an additional $2 billion for the National Institutes of Health, which will support an increase in cancer research funding.
CTF is continues to advocate for the CDMRP in the FY 2018 funding process, as well as additional research opportunities.
