The Children’s Tumor Foundation short documentary My Superpower will premiere at the 14th annual New Hope Film Festival in New Hope, Pennsylvania. This moving short documentary film tells the story of young Catalya Castanon, who lives with NF1.
The film will screen in the “Health Concerns block of the film festival with six other short documentary films that feature topics about various healthcare-related issues.

ABOUT MY SUPERPOWER
Cataleya Castanon lives with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF), a rare genetic condition that causes tumors to grow on nerves. “Cat” shares her fascinating journey with NF-related vision loss, chemotherapy, and pain from her Yelm, Washington home and school, and takes us with her on one of her many hospital appointments. This short documentary is a glimpse into a family struggling with a rare condition and their surprising power and strength. (10 min)

The Festival’s core mission is to discover and nurture independent filmmakers, many of whom are seeking world and U.S. debuts and remain overlooked and/or underappreciated by other forums. ABOUT THE DIRECTORS
Directors Lorena Luciano and Filippo Piscopo are a husband and wife team and founders of Film2Productions. Together, Filippo and Lorena have produced numerous documentary films across the US and around the world, in addition to docuseries for television outlets that include Netflix, HBO, and Hulu. Their work together has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards at international film festivals, the MacArthur Foundation, and the Sundance Institute. Among their many credits is It Will Be Chaos, an Emmy award-winning documentary produced for HBO Documentary Films.
