Valentine’s Day is a time to tell those closest to you how much you love them. Today, we’re sending our love to all who participated in and donated to Cupid’s Undie Run. The numbers are in and the 2013 Cupid’s Undie Run has raised a record-breaking $1 million in support of NF research!
Initiated in 2010 by friends Chad Leathers, Brendan Hanrahan, Bobby Gill, and Tamara Forys, Cupid’s Undie Run is a one mile fun run in which participants race in their underwear, outdoors, on Valentine’s Day weekend.
Chad, Brendan, Bobby, and Tamara created Cupid’s Undie Run to benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation after Chad’s youngest brother, Drew Leathers, was diagnosed with schwannomatosis, the rarest form of neurofibromatosis (NF).
Four years ago, Cupid’s Undie Run took place in one city, Washington, D.C., had 650 participants, and raised approximately $10,000. In 2013, the race included over 8000 participants in 18 cities around the world (17 in the U.S. and one in Australia) and raised 100 times that amount.
Congratulations and much gratitude to Cupid’s Undie Run’s administrators, Race Directors, volunteers, and participants. Thank you for “putting the hilarity back in charity” and fundraising your pants off!
