The Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) announced today a multi-year collaboration with MDCPartners of Belgium (MDC) to provide scientific and business intelligence services to the Foundation through MDC’s business intelligence platform, ta-Scan. MDCPartners is a consultancy company for the pharmaceutical and medical technology industry with a strong focus on automated technology for business intelligence processes.
Starting in July, 2014, CTF will utilize the innovative tools developed by MDCPartners for clinical trial optimization. “The expanding focus on niche diseases requires that we identify experts and facilities that can assist in our research goals” said Annette Bakker, PhD, President and Chief Scientific Officer of the Children’s Tumor Foundation. “ta-Scan offers a unique window on neurofibromatosis therapeutics, allowing us to gain better insights into the scientific and geographic information necessary to evaluate the best options for clinical care and program placement.”
“This collaboration is a new milestone for MDCPartners,” said David J Cocker, Chief Scientific Officer of MDCPartners. “This partnership demonstrates the increasing importance of semantic web mining and the aggregation of today’s complex data patterns, translated into understandable language for the clinical research community. We are enthusiastic about collaborating with the Children’s Tumor Foundation and working to expand ta-Scan deliverables over the tenure of this agreement.”
