We are very proud to announce that the Children’s Tumor Foundation has been ranked as one of the best nonprofit organizations to work for by the leading publication for nonprofit management, The Nonprofit Times. This annual ranking is dedicated to finding and recognizing the best employers in the nonprofit industry. It takes into account a combination of factors, including employee engagement and the ability to tap into employees’ skills and diversity. This achievement is a testament to the Foundation’s commitment to fostering a strong team dedicated to the fight to End NF.
Each year, the Nonprofit Times selects the top 50 nonprofits to work for in the United States, in which CTF was ranked number 32 overall. The publication also breaks the list down by organizational size, and CTF placed number 12 among the top small organizations (ones that have 49 or fewer employees).
As a national organization with just one office and remote staff across the country, it was noted that CTF takes proactive steps to ensure staff are connected with each other and with the communities they serve. Foundation President Annette Bakker was quoted as saying “We’re a serious organization with a serious purpose, but we also approach our work in a positive go-get-‘em attitude, and work collaboratively as a united team that supports each other.” She added, “So whether an employee is remote or in the home office, it’s incumbent on us as leaders of organizations to identify and execute against the levers that help the team to thrive.”
The Children’s Tumor Foundation also recently received, for the ninth consecutive year, a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for best practices and performance efficiency, placing it among the top 2% of charities to receive this distinction. In fact, only 4 other organizations on the Best Place to Work list have also received a similar long-standing ranking from Charity Navigator. This means that the Children’s Tumor Foundation is among the best investments in the nonprofit sector, both in terms of its mission and its people.
