House Proposes $25 Million for NF Research

A modern medical research lab filled with advanced equipment and multiple computer monitors displaying data. The Children's Tumor Foundation logo with the text "Ending NF Through Research" is visible. On June 4, the House Committee on Appropriations released its Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 defense spending bill, which includes $25 million for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program – NF Research Program (CDMRP-NFRP)!  This development reflects lawmakers’ longstanding support for the CDMRP-NFRP, which has driven groundbreaking NF research since 1996.  Importantly, with these funds, the CDMRP-NFRP Clinical Trials Consortium will be able to continue its ten ongoing clinical trials, moving us one step closer to translating NF research into effective treatments.  This proposal is a result of the successful advocacy efforts of CTF and the entire NF Community.  Together, we will End NF.

The House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense will mark up the bill on June 5, and the full committee will mark up the bill on June 13.  We will continue to provide updates on the bill’s development as it progresses through Congress.
