Happy Momma’s Day… Three Days Late

Posted: May 13th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: motivation | Tags: , , , , , , | No Comments »

Listen to this song from Ben Leathers  for his “Momma” on Mothers day… three days late (yes, we know Mother’s Day was four days ago, but the song was created ‘three days late’). Ben currently lives in Los Angeles, Calif., working as a composer and musician. Some of his current projects include working for National Geographic and working as a sound engineer for shows such as Lost and Family Guy. His brother Drew battles Schwanoomatosis, the rarest form of NF. The Leathers family has been actively involved with the Children’s Tumor Foundation through their fundraising team, the Tumornators.

Here are the words in case you can’t understand each word (send this link to your friends).

Ben Leathers, Drew Leathers, Fran Cone

Ben, Drew, and Momma

It was May the 9th 50 years ago
When somebody made a pill for the birth control
Tryin to bring the population of the mommas low!!!
Who would do such a thing, well I don’t know

Chorus:

I love my momma she’s the best in the world
I love my momma she’s the sweetest girl
I love my momma hair straight or curled!!
I love my momma she’s the best in the world

Well three score and three years before
Momma’s second baby boy popped into the world
He’s the cutest of the bunch you can’t ignore
Cause he takes after momma and that’s for sure

Chorus

Well here we are in the present day
and I’ve got some bad news, I’m sad to say
This present to my momma is three days late
But I love my momma and I think she’s great!

I love my momma she’s the best in the world
I love my momma she’s the sweetest girl
I love my momma hair straight or curled!!
she’s the best  momma in the whole wide world!

ING Georgia Marathon
Sunday, March 21, 2010 • Atlanta, Ga.

“How INCREDIBLE! What a weekend! I have been to many a marathon, but I can honestly say I have never seen that much NEON on a race course! Sadly, ol Drewf was not able to make it to the pasta dinner, but it was due to exhaustion from an AMAZING excursion with some great friends who came and picked him up for a day at the mall and a movie (something, selfishly I wouldn’t trade for the world).  It was also the first time I’ve felt like I was getting my brother back.”
- Chad, Tumornators team

(Check out the video above for Drew’s thank you to all who came out to support NF Endurance in Atlanta).
tjlstartline NYC Half Marathon
Sunday, March 21, 2010 New York, N.Y.

“The run was awesome!!!  Thank you so much!!! It is a once in a lifetime opportunity!”
- Lori-Ann, Team Julia Ladybug
