We are sorry for the inconvenience, this is STILL the NF Endurance Energy Blog. We updated our WordPress version and it kind of messed things up... ehh errr... It should hopefully be fixed soon!
My name is Murray McCartan. I am the NF Endurance Team Captain for the Minnesota Chapter of the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF). On behalf of our whole chapter, we are pleased to welcome your participation in the Twin Cities Marathon (TCM) with the NF Endurance Team. The TCM is, indeed, the Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in the country. We are looking forward to a great weekend on Oct. 1-3, 2010. Members of our chapter are here to assist you in any way to assure that you have an enjoyable experience.
As we get closer to race weekend, more specific information will be sent out to all participants. Briefly, here is the status on some important elements for the weekend: A block of rooms have been reserved for out-of-town NF Endurance members at the Holiday Inn Metrodome. A team pasta dinner is planned at St. Paul College. We will have an NF Endurance booth at the weekend’s St. Paul River Center Expo. Please stop by and visit.
Lastly, our “Wall of Neon” Cheer Zone will be conspicuously present to visually and vocally help you get “home” to the finish line. This is one of the nation’s largest NF Endurance Cheer Zones and an award-winning TCM entry in last year’s cheer competition.

CUPID SHUFFLE
Scout out a Valentine’s Day Run near you. We like the Cupid Undie Run in Washington D.C. which will benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation. On Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 you can jog around the Capitol Building (1.75 mile lap) in your Valentine’s day-themed undies. And, even if you don’t want to run you can be Cupid’s Little Helper and volunteer. For more information e-mail (Enable Javascript to see the email address)
YAKETY YAK Check out Yaktrax. Don’t let the snow be an excuse to ditch your weekend run. Yaktrax offers products to attach to your shoes and help bolster traction for running on snow and ice. Say goodbye to driveway wipeouts. One of our teammates just informed us they are on sale too (20 percent off at Eastern Mountain Sports).
Noah Lease reminds us to be grateful for health this holiday season.
THANKSGIVING BLESSINGS
Noah is a NF hero from Robbinsdale, Minn. Noah is doing well, but he has an MRI in a few days to hopefully bring an end to the chemo! And, guess what? Noah was the lead story on the 5 o’clock news. Check out the article and video. Noah’s dad, Brian, is currently training for the Disney Marathon in January. Check out his website here.
Beads of Hope raised money for the NF Endurance Disney Team and was hosted by Emily Brown, Kathleen Reeder and LeeAnn Miller.
BEADS OF HOPE
On Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 Emily Brown held a jewelry party at the Bead Lady in Concord, N.C. to raise money for the NF Endurance Disney Team’s goal to fund more than $125,000 for NF research. Kathleen Reeder, owner of the Bead Lady, donated 20 percent of sales for the day to those who mentioned “Beads of Hope.” The Bead Lady is a full service beads shop that offers a variety of beads from around the world.
